Painting over Scrapbook Paper Tutorial

This technique is a great way to create beautiful paper out of scrapbook paper or color book pages that you migbht not necessarily use.

Ingredients
Scrapbook paper or color book page
Light body acrylic paint - Three coordinating colors, white and black.  I used dylusions paints.
Stencils or stamps in bold designs.  I used several Tim Holtz stencils.
Blending tool
Heat tool or patiences

Steps

1.  Using a blending tool, apply color to page in several different areas.  I used 3 colors tht coordinated well. 

2. Dry between colors to minimize mixing colors.  I used a heat tool.

3.  With stencils and black acrylic paint, stencil random spots around the painted paper.  Let dry  I used 3 different Tim Holtz.  Let dry.

4.  Repeat with stencils and white acrylic paint.  Let dry.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #276

On scrapbook paper apply dylusions paints in several colors using a distress blending tool.  Use a stencil to created more depth and then let dry.  Trim tag with scotch decorative tape.  Stamp the mushrooms(Dylusions Stamps) on drawing paper with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Color with Inktense pencils and activate with water.  Cut out and adhere to tag.

Adhere purple glitter washi tape to the top of a shipping tag.  Create background paper using scrapbook paper, dylusions paints and key hole (Dylusions).  Trim background paper to fit shipping tag and tear off the top portion to create a jagged edge.  Adhere background paper to tag.  Stamp word on mail label with alphabet stamps (Wordsworth) and Archival Ink Jet Black.  Adhere to tag.

Create a piece of scrapbook revamp uisng dylusion paints and stencils.  Apply pieces of the revamp to a manila tag.  Apply sticker images.

Using Julie Fei Fan Balzer technique, create background using dylusions paints and stencils.  Stamp image on shipping tag Archival Ink Jet Black.  Tear background and adhere around stamp images. Apply washi tape to the tag.  Highlight the tears and washi tape with watersolible graphite pencil.

Cover a manila tag with wash tape.  On a piece of painted scrapbook paper, stencil the image of a woman (Dina Wakley Stencil) with black acrylic paint.  Let dry.  Adhere paper to the tag.  Apply sticker phrase to the tag. 

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #176

Paint gesso on a shipping tag and let dry.  Rip decorated paper into squares and adhere to tag in a checker pattern.  The deco paper was created with the Painting over Scrapbook Page Technique.  Stamp the man image(Lost Coast Designs) several times on white tissue paper and cut out.  Adhere to the tag and let dry.  Doodle in between the squares using a Dylusions Paint pen.
