One Little Craft Tag Challenge #131

Paint a mixed media tag with turquoise acrylic paint and let dry.  Stencil the tag with dots in white acrylic paint and honeycomb in black acrylic paint.  Let the paint dry between colors.  Stamp the image (B Line Stamps) and phrase (Contact USA Clickable Stamps) in Archival Ink Jet Black.  Cut out and outline with a black felt tip marker.  Adhere the cut outs to the tag. 

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #80

On a chip board tag, paint white gesso and let dry.  Through a Crafter's Warehouse stencil, apply Recollections Embossing Paste and let it cure.  Paint with orange acrylic paint and let dry.  Using Archival Ink Jet Black and Tim Holtz stamp, stamp background on the top part of the tag.  Apply dollar store stickers.

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #16

On a kraft tag, create a background using the Watercolor Smooshing Technique with Dr. Ph Martin's Hydrus Ink and let dry.  Stamp swan (Unknown) and the sentiment (Unity) on kraft paper with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Highlight swan image with white Inktense pencil.  Adhere images with tag and embellish with sequins and glitter.  

One Little Tag Craft Challenge. #241

Cover a manila tag with wash tape.  On a piece of painted scrapbook paper, stencil the image of a woman (Dina Wakley Stencil) with black acrylic paint.  Let dry.  Adhere paper to the tag.  Apply sticker phrase to the tag. 

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #226

Paint a shipping tag with orange arcylic paint and let dry.  Apply rubber cement and let dry for 24 hours to ensure the rubber cement is completely dry.  Paint entire tag with white acrylic paint and let dry.  Rub the rubber cement to remove it.  Stamp the images on the tag and on decorative paper.  Ink used was Archival Ink Jet Black.  Cut out images on deocrative paper.  Cut within the lines.  Adhere the cutouts to the image on the tag.  Apply Scotch Decorative Tape.

Create background using String Painting on vintage book text.  Acrylic Paint was used.   Let dry. Here is a video tutorial from One Minute Muse showing how to do string painting.  Apply create backgound to shipping tag.  Apply magazine image and let dry.  Apply sticker.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #166

Adhere vintage book text to a shipping tag and cover with acrylic paint. Let it dry. Cut of pieces of decorative tissue paper to create a flower pattern and adhere to a tag.  Let dry.  Outline the design with a pigment pen.  

Two Stencil Technique Stencil Color on Color and Ghosting

Here are two tags that I made quickly with the same tools but got very different techniques.  I wanted to do something with this beautiful kids paint I have had in my stash for several years and never used it.  So this is what I came up with

Ingredients

Manila tag or other substrate

Acrylic, Watercolor, Dye Ink, or Other Water soluble medium.

- I used Prang Washable Metallic here but in the past of used several brands of acrylic paint.

Stencil.  I used Tim Holtz Stars

Paint Brush or Sponge Applicator

Non Stick Craft Mat

Not pictured 

- Baby Wipes

- Masking Tape

The first technique is what I stencil color on color. The colorant used does not have to be water soluble in this technique.  

1.  Color the tag.  Let dry.

2.  Tape tag to non stick craft sheet.  Tape stencil to craft mat.

3.  Using sponge applicator, pounce same color over the stencil.  Remove stencil

4.  Let dry.  

The second technique is called ghosting.  This one you must use some sort of water soluble colorant, like acrylic paint, watercolor or dye ink.

1.  Paint the tag.  

2.  While still wet, tape tag to non stick craft sheet and tape stencil to craft mat.

3.  Using a moist baby wipe rub the color up through the stencil.  

4.  Let dry.
