ICAD #6

With a finger tool, spread three colors of Dylusion Paints (Bubble Gum, Fresh Lime, and Crushed Grape) on an index card.  Let dry between colors to create layers.  Stamp diamond with white acrylic paint.  Let dry.  With black acrylic paint, stencil the bird(Stencil Girl Products) on to the card.  Stamp the word with an alphabet stamps(Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black. 

ICAD #5

On an index card, spread gesso and let dry.  Cut pieces tissue paper into squares and rectangles.  Adhere the pieces of tissue paper to the card with gel medium.  Once all are applied seal with gel medium.  Let dry.  Outline the tissue with a sharpie marker.  Mask of the bottom third of the card with a post-it.  Using a Dina Wakley mask of a heart, apply black acrylic paint.  Let dry.  Stamp the word with Alphabet Stamps(Turtle Press) and Archival Ink Jet Black.

ICAD #4

On an index card create a background by pouncing distress paint daubers, drying between colors to create layers.  Colors used were Seedless Preserves, Mustard Seed, and Peeled Paint.  When dry, dry brush white acrylic paint over the card.  Let dry.  Create a border from a magazine picture and sharpie marker, adhere to edge of index card.  Stamp sentiment on an old book page with Archival Ink Jet Black. Cut out and adhere to index card.  Outline with Stabilo All Pencil and blend with water.  

ICAD #3

Today's prompt at Daisy Yellow Art ICAD 2016 is Snoopy.  I had no images of snoopy and did not like any the attempts at drawing I did so I thought quote from the creator of snoopy would work great.  I saw this quote and I instantly thought of the bicycle stamp I had.  Viola ICAD idea.  

I adhered yellow decorative paper to the index card and then I adhered the book page to create the image of a hill.  I stamped the bicycle(RubberMoon) several times with Archival Ink Jet Black. Then on tissue paper, I stamped the quote with the same Archival Ink.  Then I added C. Shultz to credit the quote.  

ICAD 2016 Day 2

The theme for today was pyramids.   I adhered a piece of map from Egypt (The atlas that I used was from 1943) to an index card.  I painted over the map with gesso expect the part with Egypt on it to emphasis Egypt.  I stamped camel image(Manufacturer unknown) with Archival Ink Jet Black  I cut pyramids from a textured place mat and run Distress Ink Vintage Photo along the edge. I adhered the pyramids to the index card.  Using a Stabilo All Pencil, I outlined the pyramids and the base of the camel.  Write the quote on the top with a Prima Graphic Pen.  

ICAD #1

Index Card a Day is a new challenge I am participating in.  The challenge is sponsored by Daisy Yellow Art and the idea is to create art each day.  Each week there are weekly prompts as well as daily prompts.  This weeks prompt is Typography, found text, poetry, old books, and list-making and today's prompt was mixed tape.  Of course, I jumped all over the mixed tape challenge.  I love cassette tape images because it takes me back to my high school days.  Making mixed tape for people was such a fun activity and my favorite way to flirt.  My Iphone case is a cassette tape,  

On graph paper, stamp the images with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Mask as necessary.  Color lines of graph paper with Crayola Markers.  Adhere to the index card

Index Card A Day Challenge warm up #10

Starting June 1st I am doing another daily art challenge.  This one is an index card a day challenge.  It will take place from June 1st until July 31st.  This one will vary from the one little tag challenge in that I will make something each day, that day.  It will only last 61 days and it will be on a plain white index card.  (Bonus I had a pack of 100 in my stash that I bought at a garage sale for 10 cents).

Prior to the 1st there are warm up challenges.  This is one of the challenges.  Creative Warm Up #10 is to write your name or word and decorate it.  

I painted the index card with Prang Metallic Paint in blue.  Then with a sharpie wrote my name in is bold font.  Then id a sort of tangles around it.
