On an index card, adhere decorative packing tag.  On a page from a vintage dictionary stencil the floral image (Martha Stewart Crafts) with acrylic paint and let dry.  Outline image with Stabilo Marks All Pencil and activate with water.  Let dry.  Tear around image and adhere to the index card.  Stamp word (Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black.

ICAD #6

Cut a piece of decorative paper the size of the index card, crinkle it up and flatten several times until it is wrinkled.  Scrape gesso over the paper in the Dry Brush Gesso Technique and let dry.  Spray with pearlized water and let dry.  Stamp the face (Stampington) with Archival Ink Jet Black and enhance features with watercolor markters.  Create woven embellishment with washi tape on the paper.  Stamp words (Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black and embellish with pearls.

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #150, Double D Challenge and Time Out Challenge

On a page from a Dylusions Journal, Spray the page with Bubble Gum Pink, Tangerine Dream and Squeezed Orange.  Let dry.  Spray a stencil with water and press to the sprayed page, dry off with a paper towel and then let dry completely.  Stamp the floral image (Impress Stamps) on vintage dictionary page with Archival Ink Jet Black. Color with orange and yellow Recollections Watercolor Crayons and blend with a water brush.  Let dry.  Stamp Enjoy (Stampendous)  three times with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Adhere floral image, doily and Recollections Washi Tape on to tag.

The theme for One Little Craft Tag Challenge for this week is Summer Time/Orange.  This tag was entered into Time Out Challenge which the theme was "Flowers and Friends make life a garden" and

also entered in Double D flowers galore theme.  

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #148, Double D Challenge and Ike's World Challenge

On a bristol tag, create a background using pink and orange acrylic paint using the Acrylic Paint and Cling Film Technique.  Let dry.  Tear pattern paper and adhere to the tag.  Stamp the letter stamps with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Stamp the floral image (Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black and paint with watercolor crayons.  Let dry and then cut out with deckle scissor.  Adhere to the tag.  Embellish with a yellow metallic paint pen.  Let dry.

This tag was entered into Ike's World Challenge.  The theme was anything goes - happy.  Summer time always makes me happy and wildflowers make me happy so this tag is perfect for this theme.  I also entered it in the Double D Challenge flowers Galore.    

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #123

Adhere a paper towel to a chipboard tag.  This paper towel was used to clean up Dr Ph Martin's Hydrus Ink.  Let dry.  Cut out corgi image from greeting card and adhered to tag.  Stamp phrase on tissue paper with letter stamps (Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Cut out and adhere to the tag.  Let dry.  Adhere washi tape to the base of the tag.  Stitch strips yellow flannel with green embroidery floss.  Adhere the flannel to the tag.

This week's challenge at the One Little Craft Tag Challenge is to use busy backgrounds.  This is the first in that series.  

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #122

On a mixed media tag, scribble blue Scribble Sticks and activate with water.  Let dry.  Stamp the seahorse (Tim Holtz) with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide and spray with water.  Tip the tag in different directions to cause the ink to run.  Dry with a heat gun or hair dryer.  Stamp the image with Broken China and spray with water and tip the tag.  Dry again.  Stamp with Wilted Violet and repeat with the water and tipping.  Dry thoroughly and then paint the image with Wink of Stella.  Stamp the image with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Stamp the letters (Stampendous) in Archival Ink Jet Black.  With washi tape create the woven accent.  

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #121

On a watercolor tag, create a background with the Watercolor Smooshing Technique and Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers.  Let Dry.  Stamp the floral images (Avery Elle) and the letters (Stampendous) in Archival Ink Jet Black.  Outline the images with a white paint pen (Dylusions).

One Little Craft Tag Challenge #120

On a manila tag, create a background with three colors of Distress Oxides using the Watercolor Smooshing Technique.  Let dry.  Stamp elephant (Sweet Pea)  and phrase (Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black. Embellish with Recollections Paint Pens.

Tear strips of vintage text pages and adhere to shipping tag.  Let dry and then with gesso create the white wash effect.  Let dry.  Stamp Crow(Art Foamies) on tag with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Color around the crow with watercolor crayon.  With a stencil(Tim Holtz) and a baby wipe remove the watercolor crayon to create a ghosting effect.  Stamp Imagine(Stampendous) stamp repeatedly with Archival Ink Jet Black.  On a piece of vintage text stamp eye(Art Foamies) with Archival Ink Jet Black, color with watercolor crayon and accent with acrylic paint in a fine liner.  Tear out and adhere to tag.  

One little tag craft challenge #299

Adhere a colored color book page to a tag and then paint a light layer of gesso over it to create a White Wash Technique.  Let dry.  

With Dylusions Paint in London Blue, Calypso Teal and Vibrant Turquoise, stamp several circles(Claudine Hellmuth) and let dry.  Stamp Crow(Art Foamies) in black acrylic paint.  Let it dry.  Stamp word(Stampendous) repeatedly with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Stamp lines along bottom of the tag with Archival ink Jet Black.  Add dot of life with a white paint pen.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #297

On a shipping tag, create a background using the baby wipe stencil.  With the stencil over the tag, rub a baby wipe with some acrylic paint over the stencil.  Here a Tim Holtz Stencil was used with light blue acrylic paint. Stamp the sentiment (Stampendous)  with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Cut out color book and adhere to the tag.  

One Little Tag Craft Challenge. #259

Paint a shipping tag with white gesso and let dry.  Cut squares of decorative tissue paper and adhere to tag.  Outline squares for emphasis.  Stamp harlequin (Stampendous) with Viva Decor 3D Stamp Paint in violet.  Stamp peacock (So Suzy Stamps) on white tisse paper with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Adhere to tag.  Using dimensional magic to adhere Buttercream small sequins.  Let dry.  

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #232

On a shipping tag apply torn pieces of masking tape to create texture.  On the bottom of the tag, create ruffles with masking tape.  Paint with two colors of buttercream acrylic paint and let dry.  Stamp image(Stampendous) on white tissue paper using Archival Ink Jet Black.  Color with Recollections Watercolor Crayons.  Adhere to the tag.

On a shipping tag, press a stencil with glimmer mist to create a mono print.  Let dry.  Stamp sentiment and image with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Both stamps are from Stampendous.  

ICAD #6

With a finger tool, spread three colors of Dylusion Paints (Bubble Gum, Fresh Lime, and Crushed Grape) on an index card.  Let dry between colors to create layers.  Stamp diamond with white acrylic paint.  Let dry.  With black acrylic paint, stencil the bird(Stencil Girl Products) on to the card.  Stamp the word with an alphabet stamps(Stampendous) with Archival Ink Jet Black.

Pounce a bingo dauber on a manila tag and spray with water.  Blot to stop the color from bleeding too much.  Let dry.  With Archival Ink Jet Black Stamp Dragonfly (Meer Images) and sentiment (Stampendous).

A man's kiss is his signature - Mae West

Spread Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on a non stick craft sheet and spray with water.  Drag a manila tag through the ink puddle.  Let dry.  Using Archival Ink Carnation Red stamp lips background stamp (Stampendous).  Stamp quote with Archival Ink Jet Black using an Echo Park Alphabet Set.  Using an ink blending tool, blend Hickory Smoke Distress Ink along the edge.  Accent several sets up lips with Dimensional Magic.  Let dry. 

Designer Paper Starburst Cards for Fathers Day

Yeah over two weeks to Father's Day and I have my cards done. Maybe a first for Last Minute Melissa.  

I  used the Designer Paper Starburst from April/May 2013 issue of Technique Junkies Newsletter. Www.techniquejunkies.com. I used scrapbook paper with a gender neutral theme ie travel. This technique is easy and a good way to use the pretty paper I hoard. 

Here is a close up of the starburst panel. 

When ever I make cards I try to make more then I need so I can chose the one that's perfect for the person and I have extra when I send cards (yes I do send snail mail, so old fashion of me) forget a birthday or wanna give one to someone who needs a pick me up. 

I usually tweak each one just a bit so they are still individualized. 

This auto stamp is a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz.

I won't share the Starburst technique out of respect for copyright.  I can not say enough about Technique Junkies and strongly suggest that you should subscribe to this newsletter. 

 I will give the ingredients and the steps I took to create the cards. 

This sea shell is from Dragonfly Laser rubber stamps. Www.dragonflylaser.com. This is a great stamp because it is so versatile it's great for a focal image or as a design element.  

INGREDIENTS 

Black Card Blank

Black Cardstock

Decorative Paper or Cardstock (I used travel themed paper pad)

Adhesive (I used glue stick)

Double Sided Tape

Ruler (I used a omnigrid quilting ruler)

Xacto Knife

Cutting Mat

Stamps

Ink Pad (I used Staz On ink)

Deco Tape

Deco Twine

Scissors

Matching Marker (I used Tim Holtz Distress Marker in Broken China)

STEPS 

1. Create the starburst square with black cardstock, glue, deco paper, ruler, xacto knife and cutting mat. 

2. Attach deco twine by wrapping it around starburst panel and secure with double sided tape.  Create tassel using deco twine; cut equal lengths of twine, fold over panel twine and attached with a larks eye knots. Attach panel to card blank. 

3. Create stamp panel by stamping image on light deco paper with Staz on. Color with marker. Attach to black cardstock and cut out leaving a black frame.  Attach to card using double stick tape. 

4.  Embellish with deco tape. 

This stamp is from Stampendous. You know I'm from Portlandia so I have to put a bird on it.
