One Little Tag Craft Challenge #91

The background piece was made many years ago and has been in my stash for a LONG time.

Using an old page of text as a base, a design was stenciled using several different colors of ink spray inks. (Since this piece was done so long ago I am not sure what inks were used.). Adhere to manila tag. Stamp phrase and image on tissue paper using Archival Ink Jet Black and adhere to tag. Adhere gems.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #90

90 tags in 90 days.  That means commitment.  In the world of 12 step meetings to show dedication to sobriety you are asked to do 90 meetings in 90 days.  When I realized I had completed 90 tags in 90 day I was pleased with myself.  I have found this exercise to be really enjoyable and believe if I can do it for one quarter of the year I can do it for the entire year.  This tag is a combination of several different challenges.  The background was the acrylic paint challenge and the found object challenge.  The main image was part of the text page challenge.

A manila tag was covered in teal paint and allowed to dry.  Using a lid to a soda bottle, two types of circles were stamped with acrylic paint.  The white solid ones are from the top of the cap and the open purple ones were from the bottom of the cap.  Images (Dylusions Couture Collection) were stamped with Archival Ink Jet Black on text paper from a child's fairy tale book from the 1950s.  Images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then activated with a water brush.  Gems were adhered to the tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #89

This week challenge for the One Little Tag Craft Challenge is to use book pages.  I often utilize book pages, pieces of sheet music and maps in my creations.  I will use pages in ways I don't usually do.  Such as a the paper folded dahlia on this tag.

A manila tag was sprayed with a gold shade and a green shade of Glimmer Mist.  Smooches ink was dotted on the tag to give the color more depth.  The dahlia was created with instructions for this youtube video by Robin of Njoystampin.  The outer petals were colored with Permapaque markers and a Recollections enamel  embellishment was placed in the center.  The sentiment sticker and and enamel dots were placed on tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #88

This tag speaks to the terrible event in Pakistan were over 70 people were killed in a suicide bombing.  Many who died were women and children.  I did not have any stamps that could be easily identified as from Pakistan, even my map is so old that Pakistan was still part of India when it was printed.  I did not even have a crescent moon stamp.  Though the supplies limited me in my ideas, the expression of support to the Pakistani people was still there.

A manila tag was painted in white and green acrylic paint replicating the flag of Pakistan.  The vintage map was cut into a heart shape and then emphasized with a black crayola crayon.  Once adhered the focal image was highlighted with acrylic paint and "Love" was hand painted onto the tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #87

This tag was created for Easter for the One Little Tag Challenge as well as the Lost Coast Designs Flora and Fluffy Tail Challenge.

Using Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac floral stamp was stamped over a manila tag and then a dry paint brush was swept over tag to blur the images.  Using a blending tool the same color ink was blended around the edge of the tag.  For the bottom panel, lavender cardstock was embossed using a big shot machine and a sizzix embossing folder.  Shaded Lilac distress ink was rubbed over the raised image. The panel was adhered to the tag.  For the focal image, Recollection stencil and a blending tool were used  to stencil Shaded Lilac distress ink  onto white cardstock.  Rabbit Image (Lost Coast Designs) was stamped with Archival Ink Jet Black.  The panel with the rabbit was cut out using a big shot machine and a sizzix die.  Shaded Lilac Distress Ink was blended along edges and then panel was adhered to tag.  Silver sequence were applied to add a bit of bling to the tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #81

This tag was created using rubber cement as a mask. It requires patience because to work the cement must cure for at least 24 hours. It does create a wonderful grungy piece of work.

A manilla tag was painted with red and yellow acrylic paint to create and ombré background.  The Sprite(Zettiology) was stamped with Archival Ink Jet Black and then masked with rubber cement. The rubber cement cures for 24 hours then orange acrylic paint. After that layer dries, the clock image from Non Sequitur was stamped repeatedly with Archival Ink Jet Black and masked with rubber cement. Again it was left to cure for 24 hours. The final layer is white acrylic paint over the entire tag. Once paint is dry the rubber cement is rubbed off revealing the images and layers of paint.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #78

The tag was used to clean up several different acrylic paints.  This way no paint is every wasted and interesting backgrounds are created.  Wet acrylic paint was applied to the tag, to create the lines, a plastic fork was scratched into the paint creating texture.  The image from Hampton Arts was stamped on a vintage book page with Archival Ink Jet Black.  The sentiment (Recollections Alphabet Stamps)  was stamped on fabric paper with the same ink and then sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to achieve a vintage effect.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #77

This quote is something a friend of mine would say every year during the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New Orleans.  It felt like an appropriate celebration for the day.

Gesso was applied to a manila tag in a haphazard way so that not the entire tag was covered.  For the acrylic paint smooshing technique, green and blue acrylic paint were applied to a non stick craft mat and then sprayed with water.  The tag was swiped through the wet paint to apply to the tag creating a mottled application.  Once dried, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in gold was applied through a Stencil Girl Stencil.  Sentiment was stamped onto handmade paper with Archival Ink Jet Black then sprayed with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in gold so that it would match.  Phrase was torn out of paper and applied to tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #76

This tag uses stencils and acrylic paint in a different way.  When every I paint with acrylic paint I like to have a layer of gesso to prime the base (in this case a manila tag) so that less acrylic paint is needed and the paint is more predictable.

A manila tag was covered with Gesso.   Two colors of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Acrylics were applied to gessoed tag with a scrap of cardboard to give it texture.  Colors are Pastel Yellow and Purple Palette.  Claudine Hellmuth Studio Acrylics Smidge of Blue was applied over a mask from the Dylusions  the Suits stencil.  Images from Sideshow Stamps were stamped inside the hearts with Archival Ink Jet Black.  The stencil part was used as a way to mask off the image.  Pieces of decorative tape were applied to tag.

This week's challenge from Craft Test Dummies is to use acrylic paint.  The background of this tag was completed the week before when the challenge was using stencils.  So bang, two challenges one tag.

Today is 3/14/16 and for any math geek is know as rounded Pi day. The first 6 digits of Pi are 3.14159. For those who are not a math geek Pi is defined as ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.

A page from a vintage math book is applied to a manila tag. Using Archival Ink Jet Black the sentiment was stamped. The alphabet set is from Recollections Stamps. Washi tape was placed around edge.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #68

I started at a "stamper" for whatever that means.  I love stamps.  I view them as tools I can use to create the visual impact I am looking for. They are also great to color in as a way to relax. In the case of this tag there were inspiration. This tag came together very quickly.  I saw the strawberry image and felt inspired.

All images were stamped on a manila tag using Archival Ink Jet Black and then color with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water for a watercolor effect. The alphabet stamps were from Recollections. The strawberry and bee are unknown.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #67

I often use ordinary graph paper to stamp images on and then cut out. The lines of the graph give an interesting aspect to the image without overbearing it.

Acrylic Paint was applied to a manila tag with a credit card. Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints were used.  Decorative packing tape was applied on tag once paint was dried.  Images were stamped on graph paper with Archival Ink Jet Black and adhered to the tag.  All images are from Tokyo Mars/Adorned Surfaces.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #65

Often my daily tags turn into journaling tags..  This is one such tag.  I was feeling melancholy.

Excess ink from a stencil was printed onto a manila tag. Spray was Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and the stencil was a Dina Wakley stencil. The image is from Invoke stamps and was stamped using Archival Ink Jet Black. A sticker was applied to the tag as well as the rub ons by Chartpak.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #63

The Hello Kitty theme was chosen because today is my sister's birthday and she loves Hello Kitty.  This is a stash buster tag meaning I used stuff from my creative hoard.

Metallic watercolor gel crayons were speared on a manila tag and then activated with water. Using a stencil the image and sentiment was drawn on with a molotow pen in black.

The first time this sentiment was done the paint smeared.  To cover up the mistake,  three strips of washi tape was placed over the it.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #62

A simple understated tag. So not my style, I'm practicing minimal use here by not adding anymore embellishments or layers.

Watercolor crayon was scribbled over a non stick craft sheet (Ranger) then activated by water. A manila tag was dipped, pushed and swirled through the wet pigment. Allowed to dry. Each stamp (all three are from Stampington) was colored with a Zig Clear Color Real Brush Markers and then spritz with water and stamped onto the tag. Each image was stamped at least three times before reinking.
