One Little Tag Craft Challenge #274

On a shipping tag create a background using watercolor ghosting technique.  Color with watercolor crayon in green. Activate with water and let dry.  Lay stencil(Dylusions) and spray with water then soak up the water with a paper towel.  Let dry.  Stamp statement(Tim Holtz) with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Tear a piece of color book page to fit the bottom of the tag and cut a piece of color book page to fit the top of the tag.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge. #244

On a piece of text, scribble several color of watercolor crayons and activate water.  Using a Tim Holtz triangle stencil ghost the images.  Let dry.  Stamp image (Lost Coast Designs) in archival ink. Using the China Marker/Pencil technique, create hearts in white.

On an index card color three colors. Using a stencil (Unknown) and a baby wipe create a ghosting effect.  Stamp images (Tim Holtz) with Jet Black Archival Ink.  

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #152

Scribble three colors of watercolor crayons on a manila tag.  Activate with water.  Lay a stencil over the tag and with a baby wipe wipe off color creating a ghosting effect.  Brand of the stencil is unknown.  Let dry.  With Archival Ink Jet Black stamp word and daisy image.  Daisy image is from Hampton Arts and Alphabet set is from Echo Park.  

Two Stencil Technique Stencil Color on Color and Ghosting

Here are two tags that I made quickly with the same tools but got very different techniques.  I wanted to do something with this beautiful kids paint I have had in my stash for several years and never used it.  So this is what I came up with

Ingredients

Manila tag or other substrate

Acrylic, Watercolor, Dye Ink, or Other Water soluble medium.

- I used Prang Washable Metallic here but in the past of used several brands of acrylic paint.

Stencil.  I used Tim Holtz Stars

Paint Brush or Sponge Applicator

Non Stick Craft Mat

Not pictured 

- Baby Wipes

- Masking Tape

The first technique is what I stencil color on color. The colorant used does not have to be water soluble in this technique.  

1.  Color the tag.  Let dry.

2.  Tape tag to non stick craft sheet.  Tape stencil to craft mat.

3.  Using sponge applicator, pounce same color over the stencil.  Remove stencil

4.  Let dry.  

The second technique is called ghosting.  This one you must use some sort of water soluble colorant, like acrylic paint, watercolor or dye ink.

1.  Paint the tag.  

2.  While still wet, tape tag to non stick craft sheet and tape stencil to craft mat.

3.  Using a moist baby wipe rub the color up through the stencil.  

4.  Let dry.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #107

Paint a manila tag with green and yellow acrylic paint.  While still wet place stencil (Dream manufacturer is unknown) and rub impress with a baby wipe to create the ghost image.  Let paint dry.  With a sharpie marker, draw border shape on image and cut up.  Adhere to the prepared tag. 

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #94

The main image was created from a prompt of Cat Held's Mixed Media Morsels and inspired by a friend, Laurelle. Here is the video of Cat Held demoing the technique.  It is surprisingly easy but makes some dramatic paper.  I made about 5 pages of it in one setting.  I am sure it will show up in more of my tags.

Color a manila Tag with with metallic watercolor crayons.  Using a Tim Stencil and a baby wipe rub away the design creating a ghost image.  Create background text paper using the Mixed Media Morsel painted circle technique.  Using a Dylusions mask, cut out image of female from the created paper.  Adhere to tag. Outline with dashes using an india ink marker. Adhere a strip of the created paper along the edge.  Adhere the line from a book.  The line is "She thought of the love in the heathen woman's breast, from an Andersen's Fairy Tale.

Green acrylic paint is spread on a manila tag and then using a stencil and baby wipe the image is wiped away in a ghosting technique. All images are stamped with Archival Ink Jet Black. Images are all from Oxford Impressions. Sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Spray.

A tag created to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.  

 

Purple acrylic paint was applied to a manila tag using a credit card.  While paint was still wet, a baby wipe and a stencil were used to wipe paint away creating a ghosting image.  Stamp images in Archival Ink Jet Black.  Letters are from Recollections at Michaels and Peace is from River City Rubberworks.
