Daisy Yellow Art sponsors this challenge.  Here is the link

Prior to the 1st there are warm up challenges.  This is one of the challenges.  Creative Warm Up #10 is to write your name or word and decorate it.

I painted the index card with Prang Metallic Paint in blue.  Then with a sharpie wrote my name in is bold font.  Then id a sort of tangles around it.

Two Stencil Technique Stencil Color on Color and Ghosting

Here are two tags that I made quickly with the same tools but got very different techniques.  I wanted to do something with this beautiful kids paint I have had in my stash for several years and never used it.  So this is what I came up with

Ingredients

Manila tag or other substrate
Acrylic, Watercolor, Dye Ink, or Other Water soluble medium.
- I used Prang Washable Metallic here but in the past of used several brands of acrylic paint.
Stencil.  I used Tim Holtz Stars
Paint Brush or Sponge Applicator
Non Stick Craft Mat

Not pictured
- Baby Wipes
- Masking Tape

The first technique is what I stencil color on color. The colorant used does not have to be water soluble in this technique.

1.  Color the tag.  Let dry.
2.  Tape tag to non stick craft sheet.  Tape stencil to craft mat.
3.  Using sponge applicator, pounce same color over the stencil.  Remove stencil
4.  Let dry.

The second technique is called ghosting.  This one you must use some sort of water soluble colorant, like acrylic paint, watercolor or dye ink.

1.  Paint the tag.
2.  While still wet, tape tag to non stick craft sheet and tape stencil to craft mat.
3.  Using a moist baby wipe rub the color up through the stencil.
4.  Let dry.

For the benefit and enjoyment of the people - North Gate of Yellowstone Park

I saw this quote during PBS historical documentary of the US National Park Service.  In my opinion, all government should strive to embrace this quote.

This weeks promt for The One Little Tag Craft Challenge is quotes.  I usually create my tags and then try to find a quote to match the theme.  I approached this weeks tags differently and had the quotes decided on first and then created tags to go with the quotes.

Spray Dylusions Sprays (Cut Grass and Fresh Lime) on a non stick craft sheet and drag a manila tag through the puddle of color.  Let dry.  Stamp background design (Stampington) with Memento Ink London Fog.  Stamp the quote and cowboy (Crone's Art) a on tag with Archival Ink Jet Black.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #131

This week's prompt for the One Little Tag Challenge is napkins.  I love using napkin as a lap in my creations.  This one has such a great design.

This tag is an ode to Billie Holiday one of my favorite singers.  Autumn in New York is my favorite song she sings.  She put so much emotion into it.

Adhere a book page to a manila tag.  Using Archival Ink Jet Black stamp script stamp over the book text.  Separate the layers of the napkin and then adhere the top later over the book text.  Let dry.  Stamp quote using alphabet stamps on a label.  Adhere to tag.

Here is Dyan Reaveley showing how to do the baby wipe technique  https://youtu.be/85HCbQGkjfA.  For this technique a little paint goes a long way.

Stamp images (Dina Wakley) on a manila tag with Archival Ink Jet Black.  Color with watercolor crayons and activate with water.  Let dry.

These watercolor crayons are from Target and are $3.99 for the set.  They are some of the best watercolor crayons I have used and for the price they are a great value.

Spray manila tag with clean water, using a bingo dauber splat the color on the wet tag.  Let dry.  Stamp images from Paper Smooches with Archival Ink Jet Black.

This was a moth ball prompting that means to use something you have had in your stash fro a while and use it.  I had the bingo markers as well as this stamp set I have had for about a year and have never used it.  It really is cuter then I usual choices in stamps but I love unicorns and really if you are going to own a cute stamp set a unicorn one is the way to go.

One Little Tag Craft Challenge #122

Spray a manila tag with fresh water, while still wet pounce bingo marker daubers on the tag in two colors.  Let dry.  Stamp Flower Image (My Favorite Things) in Archival Ink Jet Black.  Mask as necessary.  Stamp "May Day" sentiment using alphabet stamps (Manufacturer unknown) and Archival Ink Jet Black.

Bingo Daubers make great cheap art supplies.  At the dollar store you can get one or two for a dollar.  They are vibrant colors and work very similar to watercolor.  I got the idea to use them from Tim Holtz Stains which have a dauber as well.
